Technology to support IHT – Forum Recap

This month we discussed, ‘Technology to support IHT’.

The speakers discussed the flexibility of pensions and ISAs for retirement, emphasising their role as financial ‘wrappers’. The session highlighted the challenges posed by constantly changing government rules, particularly regarding inheritance tax (IHT) planning.

The speakers outlined strategies for both affluent clients and those dependent on pensions, stressing the importance of personalised planning. By using pensions to fund whole-of-life plans, clients can potentially mitigate IHT impacts. The session also emphasised the need for holistic approaches, considering gifting, trusts, and will adjustments to effectively manage IHT issues.

Panellists included:

  • Jane Hodges – Money Honey FP
  • Mike LeGassick – Manning and Company
  • Nathan Douse – Royal London
